The PUFFIN 38 (41' LOA with stern platform lowered) is built on the same hull and is primarily for coastal, river, canal and in-season ocean passages, with large windows and decks that can trap large water volume's, should not be used for serious cross-ocean passages.
The PUFFIN S-Cape Flush-deck and Sedan, are an attempt to address the middle class ocean cruisers that have been seriously priced out of today's market, customers like policemen, firemen, retired educators, small business owners, and retired working folks with some money usually from increased house value or inheritance.
The new "no frills" PUFFIN uses easy to repair commercial workboat coatings. The low-cost S-Cape is designed for safe world cruising, to escape the daily grind away from the noise of the city.
1. Large folding stern platform (bigger than the 382's and good protection in the up position from stern boarders).
2. Proven external rudder shaft, which allows the stern fuel tank to move into the boat.
3. Single large balanced "dhow" jib for good sailing with easy operation.
4. It has the similar fuel and electrical systems like the Diesel Duck 382 and a complete galley and anchoring system.
Note: the folding platform allows the total length to be about 38 feet so shipping costs are cut in half as a flat rack can be used.
